Heather Adams

Hi there! I graduated from the Karen Pryor Academy for Animal Training and Behavior in 2008. Since then, I have helped hundreds of families enjoy their dogs more by making sure they actually listen! If you’d like to know more about our obedience training programs you can click right here.

I started agility with my golden retriever named Tucker, just as something fun to do together. That was back in 2004 and has since snowballed into 6 agility dogs (border collies and a Lhasa apso!) over the years and we’re doing crazy things I never would have thought possible. My border collie Star has earned a place on two different teams to represent the USA at world championships. Like the Olympics for dogs!

We didn’t start out that fancy. Tucker and I struggled!! Dog agility is not an easy sport! So I threw myself passionately into learning everything I could from the best trainers in the world. After years of trial, error, learning, training, practice and competition, I’ve created a solid program that takes students from the basic foundations to having a blast at competitions. Our step-by-step guidance will make it feel easy.

Whether you’re like I was with Tucker looking for something fun to do, thinking about dipping your toes into competition, or you’ve been competing but not having as much fun as you’d like, I have been there and I know how to help you.

It's important to be a great dog trainer, but it's just as important to be a great teacher and coach for human students. I’m here to encourage and support you but also push you a bit out of your comfort zone when needed so you and your dog can get the results you want. My passion is for teaching people solid foundations and handling skills so that you can have fun with your dog and not struggle like I did with Tucker.

I primarily follow the One Mind Dogs methods and have trained extensively with world team athletes in the U.S. and Canada. I have competed in every single agility venue available in the U.S. I’m also a UKI judge, so you can hire me to teach workshops and judge at your event!

Sarah Block KPA, CTP

Sarah has been training with me for a few years now and has become an expert in our unique agility foundations training program. She graduated from the Karen Pyror Academy for Animal Training and Behavior. She has a Veterinary Technician degree and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Medaille College.

She has been honing her skills as a trainer for over 10 years with her own dogs, participating and competing in obedience, rally, agility, dock diving and scent work. Her philosophy that any dog can have fun playing in dog sports with the right training and understanding, combined with her positive spirit and clear way of explaining things are what makes her a great trainer and teacher.  Our students love working with her!

Her dog Jackson has earned titles in over four different agility venues, such as CPE, NADAC AKC and UKI. He won 3rd place at CPE Nationals! He has earned multiple championship titles including CPE C-ATCH AND C-ATE. In UKI, he’s earned the International Agility Champion and Speedstakes Champion titles. Not only is he an accomplished agility dog, but also has his CGC and rally novice title.

Sarah as also competed with her dog Milo who has a title in CPE Scent Work

She is currently training her young border collie, Oakley, who promises to have a bright future!

Imagine the joy of watching your dog succeed while feeling completely in sync as a team. That’s the kind of happiness and connection we see in our students every day, and it’s exactly what we want for you.
